EVOO & Hair Care

EVOO is not a term coined by Rachael Ray, instead it's been being used on various hair boards for ages. EVOO or extra virgin olive oil has been being used on African American hair for ages, to coat and protect the hair and also as a sealant. EVOO can be used on the scalp as well as the hair, especially during these cold winter months. Remember: a tiny bit goes a long way and most ladies prefer to use the cold pressed extra virgin olive oil over other varieties.

Uses of EVOO for hair care:

* Used on new growth it can help soften it as well as protect the line of demarcation, especially during relaxer stretches.
* Added to relaxers it can make the relaxer less potent and leave you with a texlaxed look
* Used prior to shampooing it can act as a pre-poo treatment
* Add a bit of honey to your EVOO and heat for a few second in the microwave and you have a deep conditioning treatment
* There are tons of other ways to use EVOO... how do you EVOO?!?

I tried a little bit with my conditioner but it felt too oily so I had to wash my hair again. Maybe I used too much EVOO. I have to try it out again, figure out how to get the right ratio for my hair. I am also going to try that honey and EVOO mix in the microwave you suggested.
