DIY Rollersets

As I sit here under my favorite Gold n Hot Soft Bonnet dryer drying my DIY rollerset I can't help but think 'is it really worth all the trouble?' It's not exactly a time issue, I headed off to the shower at exactly 4:57 washed, conditioned, and roller set my hair. It's now 5:52, so everything took a little under an hour but still the headache of actually putting the rollers in can be not only frustrating but pointless if you don't get them right. Then the amount of time you have to spend under the dryer, then possibly blowing (or flatironing) your roots straight or doing the saran wrap method adds another 30 minutes to an hour to the whole process. I'm starting to rethink the benefits of DIY rollersetting and wonder if the pros really outweight the cons.

PROs

1. you are doing it yourself so we'll assume you'll have less damage (not always true, but ...)
2. the comfort of your own home
3. less time (again not always true, week days in the AM are quiet in the salon I frequent)
4. cheaper

CONs

1. DIY doesn't always look better
2. Sore arms and aggrevation
3. you might end up doing more damage than good
4. I like when other people shampoo my hair

What do you think ladies, what's better DIY rollersets or Salon rollersets?

girl, that is a hard question. I found my hair breaking with DIY rollersets, so I recently cut it all my hair off. But, I am relentless in that I will get it right, and consistently reassure myself by saying, "Hair grows."
Yet, I love the felling of being pampered at a salon, but sometimes I find the stylist rips through my hair. So, I will just take my hair, do it gentle and hopefully by the end of 2009 have great hair like Traycee (KISS) and you.
